We’re Celebrating!
This week Optimum Safety Ltd is celebrating 5 years in business. Five years is quite an achievement for any business, and we are delighted to be celebrating this milestone. It’s been a rewarding and fast-paced half a decade, and our success has come hand in hand with our constant focus on ensuring our clients feel valued and feel that they are getting value for money.
Chris started the business on the 5th of September 2017 when he saw an opportunity for a health and safety company that could take a holistic and flexible approach. Providing no-nonsense practical health and safety management to companies across the UK. Chris knew that with his wealth of experience and skills of being a Chartered Health and Safety Consultant and qualified trainer that he could build a business that would provide the very best qualified advice support, consultancy, and training to fellow businesses.
Our team has grown from 1 person our founder Chris Owen to a team of 6 with offices in the heart of Lincolnshire. To the very day of this milestone anniversary, we are settling into our new office, the largest space in Greetwell Place, Lincoln.
One of the biggest stand-out moments for Chris was when he took on his very first employee in January 2019. The appointment of Megan started the catalyst for growth in the consultancy side of the business.
We have been lucky throughout the years to continue to grow and build a team that cares about each and every one of our customers. The way we see it, we are part of their business too. A trusted health and safety partner.
We feel privileged to work alongside so many varied businesses and to be recognised as providing some of the best services out there and receiving multiple awards. This year receiving the Armed Forces Covenant Employee Recognition Scheme: Bronze Award, Corporate Live Wire, Central England Prestige Awards: Health and Safety Training Provider of the Year, Acquisition International, Business Excellence Awards: Best Fire Risk Assessments Provider – UK and SME News, UK Enterprise Awards: Best Health and Safety Consultancy 2022.
Positive feedback about what we do means so much to our business especially when our clients leave reviews:
“It is reassuring that we have a fully compliant health and safety system in the business and that we have someone at the end of the phone whenever required. One phrase to describe our service from Optimum Safety – ‘competency with common sense’, they are perfect for our business” Darren Misiak, Brook and Mayo.
Our services have grown alongside our clients. A great example of this from March 2021 was when our team expanded the range of in-house Fire Safety services. Providing fire risk assessments, fire door assessments, face-to-face and eLearning training. Within our health and safety eLearning library we now have over 100 courses to choose from.
In early September 2021 we started working with the Identity Agency for a full corporate re-brand that culminated with its launch in November 2021. It has allowed us to streamline our business name, stay current, more effectively connect with our audiences, and better reflect our services, goals and values.
Throughout the years we have always supported many charities and good causes including St Barnabas Hospice our company’s chosen charity. St Barnabas makes a real difference to patients and families across Lincolnshire living with a life-limiting or terminal illness. It’s their 40th anniversary year and Chris has taken on 4 epic challenges for this good cause. We have also sponsored children’s safeguarding books by the polices community clubs of Great Britain for Fiskerton School, Lincoln and joined forces with Lincoln Business Club to be part of the IMP art trail. This key event was a fun art trail of colourful IMP sculptures placed across the Lincoln’s historic city centre. We even commissioned a smaller IMP to be designed by Lincoln College Art Students.
To further support the wider community we serve, Optimum Safety signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant in May 2022. We also continue to work to reduce our carbon footprint thinking about how we provide documents to clients, offering electronic alternatives and offsetting the footprint of the office with My Square Meter. So far in 2022, 40 square meters of wildflower meadow have been planted. Each square meter is protected, provides space for 500 wildflowers, is food for life for 60 bees and offsets carbon out of the atmosphere.
Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all our clients for their continued support. Without you, the success and growth over the last five years would not have been possible.
